چکیده
Diffuse water pollution from agriculture (DWPA) is one of the major factors causing in Lakes Palić and Ludaš, two largest shallow lakes Pannonian Basin Serbia. These are protected under national international law. On basis number strictly bird species, Ludaš Lake has been classified as a wetland importance since 1977 (Ramsar site 3YU002); 2021, both were nominated potential Natura 2000 areas. Despite degree protection ecological significance area, agricultural land prevails. By process expropriation during 2019, buffer zone began to expand around lakes, which should lead reduction pollution. One goals buffer-zone development enhance restore connectivity remaining forest-steppe habitats. During process, soil was sampled record areas with highest This paper assesses environmental risk caused by phosphorus, nitrogen, accumulation heavy metals (Zn, Cu, Pb, Cr, Ni, Mn, Cd, Hg). For each metal, corresponding indices (Igeo, PI, EF, Eri, RI, Nemerow) contamination level calculated. Pollution indicate influence following order: Cd > Cu Ni Zn Pb Cr Hg. Results showed that concentrations exceeded maximal permissible concentration all examined samples, high determined. High potassium detected, could be result intensive activity. Current conservation measures this area have not provided adequate natural environment. Accordingly, existing must controlled or new, more restrictive prescribed.

The nature, extent, and ecological implications of marine light pollution
© The Ecological Society of America www.frontiersinecology.org A light at night is globally widespread (Cinzano et al. 2001), rapidly expanding in spatial extent (Hölker et al. 2010), and shifting in its spectral characteristics (Davies et al. 2013a). Increasing concern over these trends has recently fuelled a surge in research toward understanding the ecological impacts of artificial light pol...
متن کاملHealth and Ecological Risk Assessment of Heavy Metal Pollution in Esfarayen Surface Soils
Introduction: Due to the continued urbanization and industrialization in most parts of the world, metals are constantly being introduced into the soil environment and posing a major threat to human health. The purpose of this study was to investigate the contamination of Esfarayen surface soils with heavy metals and its hazards to human health. Methods: Surface soil samples were collected from ...
متن کاملThe current status of heavy metal in lake sediments from China: Pollution and ecological risk assessment
Heavy metal contamination in lake sediments is a serious problem, particularly in developing countries such as China. To evaluate heavy metal pollution and risk of contamination in lake sediments on a national scale in China, we collated available data in the literature of the last 10 years on lake sediments polluted with heavy metals from 24 provinces in China. Based on these data, we used sed...
متن کاملSpatially-Correlated Risk in Nature Reserve Site Selection
Establishing nature reserves protects species from land cover conversion and the resulting loss of habitat. Even within a reserve, however, many factors such as fires and defoliating insects still threaten habitat and the survival of species. To address the risk to species survival after reserve establishment, reserve networks can be created that allow some redundancy of species coverage to max...
متن کاملSpatial Variability and Ecological Effects of Anthropogenic Activities in a Nature Reserve: A Case Study in the Baijitan National Nature Reserve, China
Nature reserves play an essential role in protecting natural resources and maintaining an ecological balance. However, certain nature reserves are increasingly disturbed by human activities in the form of settlements, roads, farmland, etc. How to monitor the status of nature reserves by using remote sensing methods has been a focus of scholars for a long time. In this study, remote sensing sate...
